Chapman was born in 1922,France and she died 2010,USA. She was a famous anthropologist thanks to her ethnographical works with natives from Tierra del Fuego, Chile and Argentina, specially with Selk'nam. Her life with Selk'nams started in 1964 and she wrote books and filmed documentaries about her experiences and about the way of life of these culture.
I can't say that I love her but I really like the work that she could do because she was the last foreign person who lived with Selk'nams, she had the opportunity to know the last real Selk'nam: Angela Loij. Also, she documented the traditions of these comunity of hunters-collectors and thanks of her now we can know a little bit more of these culture because, today, Selk'nam doesn't exist.
I really like Selk'nam culture but they were wiped out by the colonizing forces. Because of that I think that read Anne Chapman's work is an act to remember our past and our real origin.
In that picture we can see Anne Chapman (to the left) with Angela Loij (to the right) the last Selk'nam.
